Location: at the west end of San Diego's beautiful Balboa Park, in the middle of a block. The Redwood Bridge Club is to the north; Quince Drive is to the south; Sixth Avenue is to the west; Balboa Drive is to the east.
--Five blocks north of Laurel Street
--3/4 of a block east of 3004 Sixth Avenue.
--1/4 block west of Balboa Drive. (Balboa Drive is a one-way street, parallel to Sixth Avenue & 1 block east of Sixth Avenue.)
--Approximately 100 feet north of Quince, search for two beige/pink garden sheds. Next to them is a grove of tall magnolia trees. Beneath the shade of those trees, find a low, earthen bench. It's shaped like a semi-submerged sea serpent (see photo above.) Be sure to click on the "Directions" tab.
When you find the Bench--and hear yourself crunching fallen leaves underfoot
--you'll know you're there. Note: the last 30-40 feet to the Bench are unpaved.
